Aluminium Feedstock Preparations

Oldroyd Intec Ltd have been supplying entire Secondary Aluminium plants for over 20 years. The preparation of the feedstock is critical to the successful process and requires specialized equipment for each type of residue material. We provide the design and supply of the following equipment:

Dross Preparations (typically 30-50% aluminium):

• Dross Breaker for large granules to feed into a separator
• Dross Separator for removing aluminium oxides leaving 70-80% aluminium dross which can be feedstock for the smelting process - either a conventional (30% salt addition) or tilting (10% salt addition) rotary furnace.

Turnings Preparations (bypass the smelting process)

• Oily Turnings Chipper to granulate and feed into a centrifuge.
• Oily Turnings Centrifuge to remove excess oil.
• Oily Turnings Dryer to remove remnant water.
• Dry Turnings Baler to prepare for refinement starting with entry in a holding or static reverb furnace.

Castings & Plate/Scrap Preparations

• Fragmentor for non-fragmented aluminium in preparation for smelting.
• Sloping Hearth Furnace - for preparation of irony mix castings for refinement.
